💔 How do you mend a broken heart? 💔

Michelle finally thought she’d found love with her hot Greek doctor. But when Demetri reveals he’s returning home to care for his sick mother, Michelle’s dream future crumbles. Choosing not to follow him feels like losing more than just love – it feels like losing who she’d started to become.

Determined not to fall apart, Michelle decides to throw herself into rebuilding her life in Sandpiper Shore, but then unexpectedly, Demetri’s brother, Makkis, arrives on her doorstep. Offering him a room seems like the kind thing to do… but the constant reminder of her lost love is difficult for her heartbroken soul.

And the more time she spends with Makkis, the clearer it becomes: there are parts of Demetri she never knew… Just as Michelle starts to heal with a little help from her friends, she’s faced with a decision: fight for the love she knows she deserves, or finally learn how to let go…

Welcome to my blog, Kim. I’ve read ‘Love Blooms at the Cornish Cottage’ and really enjoyed it. Can you tell  us what inspired you to write the Sandpiper Shores series.

My latest book Love Blooms at the Cornish Cottage is the third book in a three-book-collection set in Sandpiper Shore in Cornwall.

I wrote this series because I wanted to highlight loneliness of all kinds.  How people that you would never think of, can feel lonely at any point for many different reasons.  I tried to define what loneliness means, but it does mean so many things to different people so I googled the word and this was the definition that came up:

Loneliness is the distressing, subjective feeling of a mismatch between the social connections a person has and those they want, characterized by a feeling of isolation or lack of companionship. It is a personal experience that can occur even when surrounded by others, distinguishing it from merely being alone.

My main characters are all at a point where they feel lonely at some point in their life of very different reasons.

Jo, in The Cornish Cottage by the Sea, is a mother whose children have flown the nest and have their own lives and a now ex-wife.  She was a real homely person, a wonderful wife and mother who put her family above all else.  But when her family circumstances changed she had never felt more alone.  That’s why when she had the opportunity to start a new life in Cornwall, she decided to go for it.

Emma, in Life Begins at the Cornish Cottage, is a widow but at just over 50, still has much life left to live.  When she encounters a blast from her past, her first love, she worries about what others might say if she becomes friends with him again.

And then we have Michelle, who in Love Blooms at the Cornish Cottage has been single for so long that she’s forgotten what it feels like to be in a relationship.  But she does feel like there’s something missing in her life although she’s the busiest of people and everyone thinks that she’s fine.

The one thing that brings these women together is friendship and a shared kindness and empathy towards their loneliness in middle age and the fact that everyone thinks they’re fine because they are able to paste a smile on their faces.  I admit that there have been several times in my life when I’ve felt incredibly lonely, and with the help of some very close friends, when I’ve been brave enough to share how I’m feeling, I’ve found a way through.  It doesn’t stop me feeling that loneliness at times, but it does help to share.

So, the moral of today’s post, is just be kind to everyone you meet because you have no idea of what they’re going through.

Well said, Kim! I totally agree with this wonderful advice. Thanks for dropping by to talk to us today. I hope your book flies.

About Kim

Kim Nash is the bestselling author of romantic, heartwarming, uplifting, feel-good fiction, published by Boldwood Books. As a little girl, she dreamed of becoming an author.

Love Blooms at the Cornish Cottage is out on 1st April and available to pre-order now.

One of Kim’s greatest writing achievements is being nominated for the Kindle Storyteller Award in 2020, and she was delighted when Claudia Winkleman read her book and said it was ‘totally warm and absolutely lovely.’

She lives in Staffordshire with her son Ollie and English Setter rescue dog Roni and has recently opened her very own bookshop in her hometown, another childhood dream. Before that, for thirteen years she worked at publisher Bookouture (a division of Hachette UK) as Publicity Director and Author Community Director. As an avid reader, her career in the publishing industry started through book blogging.

When she’s not working in her bookshop or writing, Kim can be found walking her dog at Cannock Chase, reading, and binge-watching TV. She’s also quite partial to a spa day, lemon drizzle cake, and a gin and tonic (not all at the same time!)

Kim also runs a book club in Staffordshire and organises local and national reader/author events.
